Brett Healy is a Partner at VLP. Brett's practice focuses on helping technology companies manage and develop their valuable intellectual property assets. Prior to joining VLP, Brett was Senior Intellectual Property Counsel at eBay Inc and helped manage global intellectual property issues as the company's user base and revenue grew exponentially. Brett managed eBay's worldwide trademark porfolio and oversaw the Verified Rights Owner's Program, the first large-scale program implementing the safe harbor provisions of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. In addition, Brett advised and trained eBay's business units on intellectual property issues, including IP generation, acquisition, defensive issues, enforcement, and participation in industry initiatives.
Prior to working at eBay, Brett litigated intellectual property cases at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges and Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.
Brett graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Asian Studies. He earned a JD from the University of Southern California Law Center where he received Order of the Coif honors and was an editor for the Southern California Law Review. Brett is a member of the State Bar of California.
