Charulata Pagar is a Partner of VLP. Char helps clients conduct advertising, marketing, and promotions activities in accordance with federal and state law. She reviews advertising for advertisers and their agencies; assists clients in structuring promotions such as sweepstakes and contests; negotiates and drafts agency-client, talent, and sponsorship agreements; represents clients in advertising-related investigations by the US Federal Trade Commission and State Attorneys General; and handles advertising challenges before the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Prior to VLP, she was government counsel at the US Federal Trade Commission, inhouse counsel at Sears, Roebuck and Co., and a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. She received her JD from the University of Chicago Law School in 1992, and her BSFS from Georgetown University in 1989. Char is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Illinois State Bar.
